Joanne Hunter
Counselling & Wellbeing
Time for you
About me
I'm a qualified Counsellor based in North Yorkshire. I am available for in-person sessions from my therapy room in Cowling (Near Skipton and Keighley), or online sessions via Zoom, as well as telephone sessions.
I have completed FdA in Counselling Studies, and I engage in regular CPD to ensure my work and practice remain up to date, ethical and professional. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, fully insured, and I engage in regular clinical supervision.
I practice in an integrative way. This means I combine several different therapeutic approaches in the way that best suits you. This approach recognises you as a unique individual, allowing me to be more flexible and responsive to your needs.
Regardless of what brings you to therapy - whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety or struggling with life events - several principles underpin my work. I will be honest and open with you. I will not judge you, no matter what you bring to the session. I will work to ensure you always feel supported, heard and safe to work through whatever comes up.
The goal of therapy is not that you receive advice or a ‘fix’ for your struggles. It is that you gain confidence in your own abilities, build autonomy and feel better equipped to cope with the challenges life presents. We will work to help you understand and own your own unique story, and support a greater life balance or even feel empowered to take life in a new direction.
